Between 10th and 11th Avenues. Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Summer
hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. July through August The
Julie Saul Gallery opened to the public in 1986 in Soho and we have been located
in our current space in Chelsea since 2000. From the outset, it was our intention
to specialize in representing contemporary photographic based art, from traditional
to avant-garde. In recent years we have also concentrated on works on paper, illustration
and design.
The gallery often hosts special projects involving vintage
photographs, and thematic and historical topics. The scope of our exhibitions
now embraces many mediums including works on paper, illustration, video and installations.
Among the group of artists we represent, several have been with us since the beginning,
and we regularly premier emerging contemporary artists, as well as artists from
all generations. Our artists are represented in the collections of most major
American and many European art museums.
We provide advice and consultation
to our private and corporate collectors and pride ourselves on our knowledge,
expertise and integrity. The gallery has formed several significant corporate
collections. We regularly participate in public art fairs including Pulse Miami,
Pulse New York, Paris Photo and AIPAD (the Association of International Photographic
Art Dealers). In the past we exhibited at the Gramercy Fairs in New York and Los
Angeles, the Chicago Art Fair and the New York Armory Show.
